Schoolís Out: Summer Safety Tips
Tips for Drivers
Be alert, especially in residential areas.
Expect the unexpected. Children may cross the street at the wrong place or suddenly run out in front of you.
Double check behind you and around you before backing out of a driveway or parking space.
Obey all laws and slow down around children playing.
Tips for Parents
Remind children to walk not run across the street.
To stop, look and listen before crossing the street.
Teach your children to make eye contact with the driver before they cross.
If you own a vacant property please advise our Police Department so that we can watch your residence while it is unoccupied. We have had a rash of copper pipe thefts at vacant homes. We would be glad to help you in any capacity. Chief MacDaid
